When you need a low strength, silicone-based, form-in-place gasketing product designed for use on flexible flanges with machined or cast surfaces (metal or plastic), LOCTITE® SI 5910 is a good choice. It is suitable for gaps up to 1 mm (0.039″) and offers a cure-through volume (in 24 h) of 2.75 mm (0.108″). Typical applications include stamped sheet metal covers (timing covers and oil sumps). Its thixotropic nature reduces the migration of liquid product after application to the substrate, allowing for reliable quality control, e.g. in dispensing automation as well as manual applications.
